Sohma Yuki Sits in Purple

Yeah, I'm a bit of a Yuki fan. Not like those crazy fangirls at his school, though--I won't kill Tohru just for being near him like those freaks! @_@

Uuum...He's from the anime/manga Fruits Basket, in case any of you have been hiding under a rock or something.

This was a request from my mom's friend Bobby Jean. She actually was asking my cousin to draw him, but she was busy with her own Furuba pic and I've apparently had a supressed desire to draw Yuki-kun for a while, because I jumped up and down and said, "I wanna draw him!" So then I did. I used the image on the back of the boxed-set carton for a reference, changed the colors of his shirt and the angle of the onigiri, and decided I was too lazy for a real background and therefore stuck him in this surrealist sea of purple.

Prismacolor pencil and technical pens on some random crappy "drawing" paper. The paper curled in on itself due to my abuse, reminding me why I switched to better papers like Bristol Board and that crazy cold-pressed stuff. Ah, darlings, I shall never abandon you again...
